The pics when I loaded them here ended up posting the last ones first, so the couple pics of Newman’s accident is first on here and the first pic of Air Force One is last.
Also another story...One of the drivers was going to drive the President’s limo around the track but the secret service said no, only they drive the President. At first I thought they were being spoil sports but of course the thing is, if something did happen, I am sure the secret service have pre planned instructions of what to do and where to go that only they know. I believe Trump is the first President since Reagan to be at the Daytona 500.

I'm not a fan of the great left turn. That said I think seeing one of the big races would be a lot of fun in person. Seems like you had a pretty good vantage point. Nice pics!

Yeah, on Monday I was able to get a good spot. Sunday I was in like the 2nd row which sounds like it should be good...and in some ways it is. You are close to the action when they come by you, but you can’t see anything around the rest of the track. The higher you are the more you can see. Also, if you are in the lower level, if you have a big wreck where they go airborne and hit the fence, you are in the danger zone of the debris injuring you...which hasn’t been an issue in recent times since they have redesigned the fences and made them safer but in years past, they have had some pretty serious injuries in the stands from pieces of cars flying into the stands. I would like to make it to Talladega some day, it’s a little bigger than Daytona and has a bigger banking so the cars go a little faster, but not much faster with the restrictor plates.
