I've seen a Top Gun tie-in with Appleby's commercial playing "Sweet Emotion". Anyone else seen it? Makes the movie seem better than what it probably is.

I would argue that Sweet Emotion -not Dream On or Walk This Way- is truly the definitive Aerosmith song. It broods, simmers, snarls and ultimately goes ballistic. Highs and lows like a rollercoaster. Shows multiple shades of Aerosmith's personality within the confines of a 4 1/2 minute song. Very cinematic.
Dream On best represents their lighter leanings, and Walk This Way showcases their funky bounce, but neither is as multi faceted -stylistically- as Sweet Emotion. All definitive songs, but if someone asked me to define Aerosmith in a single song, Sweet Emotion would likely be my choice.
