they let us listen on 5 partial concerts from their hide some years ago. joe promised much much more..like every single gig since 85 at least..would be out soon in one or other formate. I kinda expected nothing would follow in the near future. so here we are....

The icing on the cake is that those shows they allowed us to watch are all now available for purchase as fully packaged bootlegs. So the bootleggers are making money off them, but Aerosmith isn't.

Did Joe say they were going to release these, or just that they had them and may go through them? I know he says a lot of dubious things, but I don't recall this.
I'm surprised the 5 videos from last summer haven't made it back to their YouTube page. Get some ad revenue without any additional costs. The view counts weren't anything impressive, so I'm guessing there isn't much money to be made on these. I'm not sure when they switched to digital recordings, likely the mid 2000s, but the video tape quality they used before then was pretty rough.
