how do you prepare yourself for the imminent day of the death of the group member? do you at all? I assume Steven to go first I have been, what's it called, surfing the net, strategically for a few years now I won't check Aeronews if I am not ready to take the news will you cry and act surprised? or will you get this broken feeling Like your father or your dog just died? do you think of it all? is it the elephant in the room?

I will feel like I've lost a part of my enjoyment in life, but I will always treasure the music and remember all the times I've seen Aerosmith. Like a lot of others on this site, they've helped me through some tough times.
I personally feel Tom will be first, then Joey, Joe, Brad, and Steven last. Steven will hold on tooth and nail and fight death to the end. He's having too much fun in this life to want to leave.

Bloody hell..... I will admit to thinking these thoughts privately, but no way would I share them on a public forum.
Oh well...

I have thought about it from time to time. When they day comes, whoever goes first, it will break me, perhaps even more than some family members. I mean nothing to them, and I know it, but they changed my life in ways I won't ever be able to thank them enough. I will be devastated, but on the long run, I will be absolutely happy for what they've given me in this 26 years I have been a die hard fan.

Earlier this year, a big thing with kids was calling their friends and loved ones and telling them that their favorite celebrity had just died. My 15-year-old son thought it would be funny to tell me that ST was found dead in his home. I had no idea this prank was ongoing, so I took it at face value and while I wasn't surprised (given his age, and drug abuse history), I was pretty sad that I would never get to see Aerosmith live again. I had all these thoughts/feelings going on in about a 2 minute time frame and then my son laughed and told me it was a joke.
Kids are cruel.

As we've seen many Rock Stars die over the years, seeing the ones you love pass is sad. I remember back to when Keith Moon and John Bonham died, those were kind of shocking. The one that really hit me hard was Edward Van Halen. With as long as I've been an Aerosmith fan, seeing any of them pass will be tough.

Agreed on Eddie, but I think the ones that hit me hardest were Tom Petty and Chris Cornell. Two of my favorite artists, but also sad that I had the opportunity just prior to both of them passing to see them play live (Chris in my hometown, even) but I passed both up. Both totally tragic and preventable deaths that left the music industry (and the world) worse without them.
