I didn't verify it, but did find these stats interesting. Aerosmith = The Rolling Stones, for one thing.

Yeah, it's probably changed throughout the years a little bit. 4 years is a long time and we don't really know how old are the figures from your original post. They just say RIAA is the source and now RIAA gives slightly different figures. Good for us, go Aerosmith!

Left out of the equation is the Armegeddon soundtrack which initially sold five million copies I believe, all due to one particular song.
