hi guys,
one of my guilty pleasures is the 2001 movie called Rockstar. The one with Marky Mark and Gillian Anderson. No, wait. Jennifer Aniston, sorry. I've never been good at dropping Hollywood names. Anyhow, I was only 13 when I saw the movie and probably that's why it blew me away. As lame as the movie seems in 2023, having all the cliches rolled into one short movie is a good place to start. There's a scene in it where the tribute band singer is pointing out the uniqueness of typos on album inlays to his little baby brother. It struck a chord and I sure as hell started reading and comparing liner notes there and then.
Other than the infamous 'Walkin' The Dig', what other typos/misspellings do you got?
I once bought the Pandora's Toys CD only to find the CD labeled as Pandora's Best. All seems legit, serial numbers and all, so to this day I don't know if I got screwed.
Just the other day I bought Gems on a cassette. I assume at least some of you are old enough to remember cassettes - me, I find them goddamn sexy like a motherfucker. The whole idea of getting a whole masterpiece album on a symetric-looking, affordable, sexy and concise-looking rectangle gives me a harder hard-on than a cheap ass bus ride. And for all those who used to oppose back in the day, saying that cassettes don't let you skip tracks, I still ask - why the fuck would you skip a track for?
Anyway, so I bought Gems on a cassette only to find out Jailbait is listed as "Jalbait". Oh yeah, and Little South Of Sanity, there were many typos if you read the cassette inlay, like "Rag Dolll". These weren't misspelt on a CD.
Little finds, those that are somewhat hard to find, are satisfying, but Little South Of Sanity on a cassette gives an impression of being put together by a guy who never went to school, so that one doesn't count.
Do you have any more?
edit;
sorry for the edits, i wanted to correct the typos
