Came across this interview with Steven and Tom. Interviewer asks some really direct questions on the recording process, record company influence, and the re-recording of the album. Really informative.
You can hear some annoyance / defensiveness in Steven and Tom’s voices, but they are pretty open.

I had the winning bid on that for hours after the end of the auction and then got sniped since bids were allowed on ANY auction while ANY auction was still receiving bids. Would have been really useful to one of my projects... The GAG EPK has a minute selection of the footage filmed.

Anything you can share on your project? I just connected the dots that you did the “On Tour” book, which is sitting on my coffee table as I type this. It’s awesome!

Sorry for the delay responding, currently traveling. The project was simply going to be a super deep dive into GAG, so that stuff was foundational. Instead, the same will be covered with a bit less studio/creative depth as part of Aerosmith on Tour, Vol. 2. Thanks for the kind comments about Vol.1. I was super fun to do, as the photos in the first chapter illustrate!

if you had to show people what 90s were really like, this is the only album you need. And it's perfect, too

I have to think the band management had to step in to win or stop the bid. I guess the risk here was that the footage was completely unedited, giving whoever bought it access to private conversations that could have been taken out of context. Also, probably included many unreleased songs. Still, know that the band has sooooo many unfinished projects, and potential for amazing content, I just dont understand why they dont start releasing material. One has to wonder why they stoped the project? was it the conflict with Collins? tension after the lable rejected the first version of GAG?
