Kiss has decided that the band will carry on as computer generated avatars. I use the term carry on loosely, I kind of doubt that there will be new music from the band.
What if Aerosmith decided to do this? Would you go see an avatar Aerosmith show?

I would never go if I had already seen the real thing. KISS and Aerosmith no way. Elvis and Sinatra... perhaps for a reasonable price. I never saw either.
Only time will tell if Aerosmith will be as legendary to future generations as Elvis and Frankie still are now.

How well did the Dio holograph shows do? In KISS's case they could do it without computers, which is what everybody thought anyway. Perhaps images are cheaper than hiring musicians. The only difference would be Paul's vocals. Would I see a holograph show? No. Would I pay to see an all tribute band like Foreigner? No.

I would definitely see it....for the $12 entry fee it would be worth.

Rather just see a cover band play a live set in a local club.

Probably not, but perhaps under the right circumstances I'd have some interest.
Ticketbastard, $40 parking, cramped seating or long lines would all be 'Hell No' type deal breakers for me.
Maybe a smaller venue designed specifically for these sort of things could work, but I don't ever see myself going to some cluster F to watch projections in place of real people.
If it's gonna be a pretend show, go all out and make the whole experience available on demand in VR.

I think the only way I would go to see an Avatar show of any Group would be if I could get in for free, i.e. if I won a contest.

Hard to get excited about going through the pain of the concert experience just to watch holograms. While it’s sounds interesting, I can’t ever imagine spending money on that. Would rather buy film and audio of prior live performances.

Well, people are spending hundreds to go see a movie of a Taylor Swift concert in a movie theater. 😂

To see a tv show, I'd rather put on a show from 97 on Youtube and I'd be happier, and it's for free.

The videos I've seen of KISS have the 'larger than life' (no pun intended) images projected right within the audience, not only just on the stage, which does seem like an interesting thing to experience. I think everyone here is understandably comparing it to an actual concert. I'm thinking of it being more in line with a Led Zeppelin laser show I saw years ago, just a cool way to spend an evening immersing yourself in some of your favorite music.

That's sort of how I'm looking at it this. Simply swapping real people with projections is never gonna fly. Could this technology be used to create a cool audio visual experience? I'm not sure exactly what it will look like, but it's at least intriguing. The laser shows created an immersive experience in a unique medium. Guitar Hero sort of did as well. I'm sure eventually someone will do something interesting with it, but I doubt it will be Kiss.

well if holograms are the only thing left, I might as well go and have lotsa fun. I went to a cinema theater where they played Rock for the Rising sun on the silver screen and I had tons of fun, but the purist will say it's not the real thing. If it's all that's left, bring on the holograms and let me choose the setlist
