Bret Michaels Leaves Concert Stage to Be Treated by Paramedicsby Michael Gallucci May 29, 2014 10:55 PM Bret Michaels left the stage at a concert tonight to be treated by paramedics. He was playing a show in Manchester, N.H., when it happened. According to Bravewords, Michaels’ guitar player, Pete Evick, issued a statement: “This is a message I never imagined I’d have to post. Tonight in Manchester, NH, three songs into the set Bret had me sing a song as he rushed off stage. In the nine years I’ve stood next to him, I’ve never seen a look like the one on his face as if I was a complete stranger. One of the crew returned instantly to notify me that Bret’s blood sugar was extremely low.” Evick said that Michaels returned to the stage to announce that he could not continue. “As you all know he is a health fanatic and fiercely monitors his blood sugar,” Evick said. “He basically had to be dragged off the stage in his sickest of conditions. When I rushed to the bus he could barely speak, but begged me to apologize to the fans and seemed only concerned for them.” The guitarist said that paramedics were treating the singer, and that any updates would be issued later. This was only about an hour from where I live. I'm sure he'll be fine, but that is some scary stuff for sure.

I saw him live in my city a week ago today, for free. He was a fking ball of energy and I did remark he might want to be careful with that considering his health problems. He does come across a little cheesy at times but still good show for free no doubt and I really like his band. Hope he is OK!!
Saw Scott Stapp as well and he put on an excellent free show! It was unreal to me....good vibe..he said he was nervous. His voice came across top notch and I liked his new band!

Bret Michaels Issues Health Updateby Dave Lifton May 30, 2014 4:42 PM Bret Michaels has canceled his concert tonight (May 30) in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The decision comes on the heels of Michaels being forced to end his concert in Manchester, N.H. last night due to low blood sugar. This afternoon, Michaels’ people issued a statement to his Facebook page, going into greater detail of what happened. The full text is below. Statement Regarding Bret Michaels Condition & Tonight’s Show In Wilkes-Barre – Team Bret As previously announced, Entertainer Bret Michaels was physically forced to leave the stage last night at the Palace Theater in Manchester, New Hampshire due to complications involving insulin shock & severe low blood sugar, along with other conditions which doctors later determined included exhaustion/dehydration/fever and the noro flu virus. Michaels attempted to return to the stage to finish the show however it was clear to the band, crew, and audience that he would not be able to continue, as he walked of the stage and became violently Ill. Paramedics present at the show immediately responded and 911 was notified. Unable to keep substance in his system complications with his insulin levels and inability to balance his blood sugar levels arose. Michaels was rushed by ambulance to CMC (Catholic Medical Center), and monitored through the evening as doctors tried to bring his blood sugar back to healthy levels. Under strict medical direction Michaels will not be able to perform this evening in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania as doctors have ordered him to let the flu virus run it’s course and let his blood sugar rebalance and remain consistent. While hoping to perform tomorrow in Albany, type 1 diabetes complicates health issues such as the nora flu virus and must be monitored and taken very seriously. Michaels has struggled with diabates throughout his life. Over the course of his career, he has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for diabetes-related charities, including $640,000 to the American Diabetes Association as a result of his victory on NBC’s ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ in 2010.
