Tracy Morgan in intensive care after 6-car crashAssociated Press 21 minutes ago NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan was in intensive care Saturday after the limousine bus he was riding in was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike, state police said. The vehicle carrying the former "Saturday Night Live" and "30 Rock" cast member and six others was involved in a six-vehicle accident on the turnpike near Cranbury Township at about 1 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. First Class Greg Williams told The Associated Press. Williams said one person died in the crash that occurred in the northbound lanes of the turnpike near mile marker 71.5. A spokesman at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey, says a patient named Tracy Morgan is in critical condition there. There was no immediate word on other injuries from the accident. View gallery Williams says two tractor-trailers, a sports utility vehicle and two cars, along with Morgan's limo bus, were involved in the accident. There is no immediate word on the cause of the pileup. The 45-year-old New York City native joined "Saturday Night Live" in 1996 and was on the sketch-comedy program for seven years before leaving to star in "The Tracy Morgan Show" in 2003. That show lasted just one season. In 2006, Morgan found a long-running role in NBC's hit show "30 Rock," which was created by SNL co-star Tina Fey. Morgan grew up fatherless, one of five siblings, in a blighted section of Brooklyn, where he helped raise and support the family. He once called his gift for being funny "a defense mechanism" for his miserable circumstances. As a teen he started doing comedy on the streets to supplement the family's welfare income. In late 2010, Morgan had a kidney transplant. The New Jersey Turnpike was closed for more than five hours after the crash and was reopened at about 6:30 a.m. news.yahoo.com/tracy-morgan-intensive-care-6-car-crash-112302799.html

Sad Now, mile marker 71.5 On I35 they replaced each tenth of a mile metal pole with a reflector with a 4ft high color sign that cost $1500 each. Eash side of the interstate. I called the state and complained. She told me they had money to spend and needed to or they would lose the funds. I think it was her way of telling me to F off. Or maybe she was being honest.

So sad. I hate the NJ Turnpike...
And the man who lost his life was not only a writer for Morgan, he was also a community activist in Peekskill, NY. A loss to that community,he did a lot.

Truck driver in crash that injured Tracy Morgan surrenders, posts bailWal-Mart bus crashes with limousine bus carrying Tracy Morgan The truck driver charged in the New Jersey Turnpike car wreck that killed one person and critically injured three others, including actor Tracy Morgan, has turned himself in, police said Sunday. Kevin Roper, 35, surrendered Saturday night and was released on $50,000 bail, Trooper Greg Williams of the New Jersey State Police confirmed to the Los Angeles Times. Williams said there was no indication that alcohol or any other substance played a factor, but he said the crash remained under investigation. Roper is charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto after the tractor-trailer he was driving, which was owned by Wal-Mart Stores Inc., crashed into a limousine van carrying Morgan and other passengers early Saturday morning. Five other vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction wreck. Morgan and two others remained in critical condition Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J. The accident killed comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, who often performed with Morgan. lRelated Wal-Mart driver charged in Tracy Morgan crash; report cites 'dozing' The National Transportation Safety Board will be working with the New Jersey State Police to investigate "safety issues related to commercial trucking and limousine safety" such as vehicle maintenance, medical qualifications, drug/alcohol testing of drivers and equipment and technology, NTSB spokesman Keith Holloway said Sunday. “At this point, we are just gathering factual information,” Holloway said. “We have not proposed any action.” www.latimes.com/entertainment/tv/showtracker/la-et-st-truck-driver-charged-in-crash-that-injured-tracy-morgan-surrenders-and-posts-bail-20140608-story.html

Comedian Jimmy Mack Remembered as Friend and Mentor to Tracy Morgan James McNair, known on the comedy circuit as "Jimmy Mack," died in the six-vehicle crash Saturday that sent Morgan to the hospital Sunday, Jun 8, 2014 | Updated 2:17 PM EDT The crash that critically injured Tracy Morgan also killed a comedian who some are remembering as a friend and mentor to the "30 Rock" star. James McNair, known on the comedy circuit as "Jimmy Mack," died in the six-vehicle crash Saturday along the New Jersey Turnpike that sent Morgan and two others to the hospital in critical condition. Morgan's ex-wife, Sabina Morgan, told the Daily News that the two had a long history together. "He was one of the first comedians that took Tracy under his wing," she said of the 62-year-old Westchester resident. "They were very close." Even after Morgan's career exploded, the two would sometimes work together, The Journal News reported. "Him and Tracy stayed really close," McNair's friend Glenn Cook told the newspaper. "When Tracy calls, (McNair) drops everything and goes." McNair was known in his hometown of Peekskill as a frequent volunteer who was very involved with his church. "I know how he loved comedy, how he loved community, how much he did for the community," Cook said. "He helped just about everybody." He also helped care for his sister, who has cancer, Donna Besterio, head of the Caring for the Homeless of Peekskill, told The Journal News. www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Comedian-Jimmy-Mack-Killed-in-Crash-Remembered-as-Friend-and-Mentor-to-Tracy-Morgan-262298451.html

"This is a tragedy, and we are profoundly sorry that one of our trucks was involved," Bill Simon, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., said in a statement. "The facts are continuing to unfold. If it's determined that our truck caused the accident, Walmart will take full responsibility."

Tracy Morgan is ‘more responsive today’! June 8th, 2014 under Tracy Morgan Tracy Morgan‘s publicist, Lewis Kay, just released a statement updating the comedian’s health and things are looking better for him. “While Tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign. He sustained a number of injuries including a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs. He had surgery earlier today on his leg. We expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.” Even though he will be hospitalized for weeks, I hope his recovery is a speedy one. I need him to get out soon, so he can put a baby in me. Seriously, I love Morgan’s unpredictable humor and we need more comedians like him and can’t lose that brilliant talent of his just yet. I still think he would be a great host for The Late Late Show and hopefully he will be better real soon so that he can fight for that job. Read more: seriouslyomg.com/?p=43139#ixzz345NX9UHi
