70k more than MFAD its first week which actually I don't get. I love the White Stripes and his solo stuff so far but I am surprised he was number one, that he has a fan base this large. Around 30% vinyl.
Jack White's 'Lazaretto' debuts atop Billboard 200 album chart
It's Jack White for the gold.
Outselling every other act with a new album by a wide margin, the color-coordinated blues-rock star hit No. 1 on Billboard's album chart Wednesday with his second solo disc, "Lazaretto."
The record moved 138,000 copies in the week that ended June 15, according to Nielsen SoundScan, well over 100,000 more than the next-highest debut: Passenger's "Whispers," which entered the chart at No. 12 on sales of 19,000 copies.

As Billboard's Keith Caulfield points out, "Lazaretto's" statistics match those of White's solo debut, "Blunderbuss." In 2012, that disc also opened at No. 1 with 138,000 copies sold.

The repeat is good news for White, who can now boast about being one of the few artists whose first-week sales aren't declining in an age when online streaming appears to be replacing paid downloading as listeners' preferred way to listen. (He shares bragging rights with Miranda Lambert: Last week the country star actually saw her first-week numbers improve with her album "Platinum.")
Still, White himself is probably more excited about a different bit of data: the fact that "Lazaretto" sold 40,000 copies on vinyl.

That's the largest sales week for a vinyl album since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991, wrote Caulfield, who added that, had it been counted on its own, "Lazaretto's" vinyl edition -- a so-called "ultra LP" with an assortment of extra features -- would've entered the Billboard 200 at No. 4, ahead of records by Coldplay, Michael Jackson and White's former nemeses in the Black Keys.
Next week White is scheduled to play England's Glastonbury Festival, part of a world tour that stopped last week in Southern California for concerts at the Fonda Theatre, the Mayan and Pomona's Fox Theater.
