Folks,
I need your help. I've got a business friend who lives in Milan Italy but does not know much (if anything) about Aerosmith. I'm trying to convince him to take his wife (both in their early 40's and both speak English) to the Milan show this summer but I'm looking for some advice as to what you guys think is the best way to introduce someone to Aerosmith?
CD's? Videos? Documentaries? All of the above?
Gotta be something that'll hook 'em quick and keep 'em on the line!! i'd love for them to go to the concert and be able to join right in!
Any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance....

Send them a copy of the DVD Rock For The Rising Sun. Also include the original Greatest Hits and Big Ones. If that doesn't do it then it is hopeless.
If you had more time, I would say send Get Your Wings, Rocks and Toys, but that might be too much for anyone to take in all at once.

I think starting with Big Ones and Greatest Hits is a good idea. I wouldn't do Rock for the Rising Sun because I would rather be surprised by how good the boys are live before seeing it.

I would say give them "O, Yeah: Ultimate Aerosmith Hits." That's much more career spanning than the ones mentioned above. Once you can get a feel for their favorite songs, send some music videos their way.
Your Milan friends might actually LIKE post-70s Aerosmith.

I'm sure they would Chris, there's tons of great post 70s stuff. A lot of it is on Big Ones, for example.

I'd give them a copy of the Live at Mama Kin bootleg!

I'm sure they would Chris, there's tons of great post 70s stuff. A lot of it is on Big Ones, for example. To me, there is still about 15-20 great songs on Nine Lives, Just Push Play, Honkin on Bobo, and MFAD that people should hear. And half of those aren't even on O Yeah!

More than half really…I just meant half of those albums aren't even represented there.

No argument from me, well, maybe not 15-20, but there are some great ones for sure. I think Nine Lives (the song) is possibly the best rocker of the comeback. That being said, they don't seem to play much past Get a Grip these days.

Thanks for helping out.....lots of good ideas. I'll have to sift through and decide so as not to drown 'em! I am thinking that a documentary, like Behind the Music, would be cool to get them as little better picture of the history and the band itself.

Aerosmith is kind of an acquired taste, asking what is the best is difficult, do they like blues, or heavy metal, or power ballads, Aerosmith does do all that.............you need to play to your audience, figure what they like and then trend the Aerosmith to what they like....just my opinion!
