He takes the glasses off pretty early on in the show. I think his coat tore in Chicago the other night, so it was off earlier than he would have liked to be, probably.

I really don't like that floppy hat, sunglasses and long coat thing. but it seems to be the way he works, revealing himself as he goes along
that hat gets recycled too- when I was at the CMT Crossroads show ( right next to Erin) it appears on tv that he throws the hat to the crowd. but he throws it into the area with photographers, etc and Erin went and got it

For my show he only wore the hat and coat for the opening song then took them off, maybe because how hot it was.

Love that he gives it all away to audience members for memorabilia. Can't beat that! I so wanted his leopard scarf he threw out to the audience last concert as well as a couple of shirts, hat, coat and sunglasses. I could definitely do without the water bottle. I know he has fun with it but I always have to duck as I'm afraid it will ruin my hearing aids.

I think I've seen that in videos. I think he throws out smaller items though such as sunglasses, or harmonicas.

I gotta vote no, keep it that's Steven. As Nesboy13 mentioned the sunglasses and hat pretty much goes early on. Hey, even JP has got his glam going on these days. They are no longer the Toxic Twins, but more like the Glimmer Twins. Oh well I love them with what ever they do or don't wear!

They are no longer the Toxic Twins, but more like the Glimmer Twins. You did a better job explaining why I voted to ditch that stuff than I did! I grew up back when "toxic twin" attire was considered cooler than "glitter twin" or "glimmer twin" or "glamour twin" attire. I still feel that way today. I say go back to that attire, but without the drugs. Then again, their creativity is much better under drugs.

I was surprised that he would give away his scarf and hat etc. that makes more sense since I read somewhere years ago that he was very attached to his scarves. Thanks for pointing that out. I know a couple people that caught his sunglasses though. I think he would look good a bit more understated as well with plain t- shirt etc. They don't Need the star clothes but if it makes them feel good. I think sometimes too much jewelry etc. it isn't necessary that's for sure. I would be just as happy without it but I think he enjoys stripping as part of getting everyone excited.

We went to a Billy Joel concert last week and he was all dressed up in suit and tie and I told my husband, "I bet Billy isn't going to strip down the way Steven and Joe do." LOL.... I love Billy Joel but I don't think anyone wanted to see that. And we didn't It was hot out there too, but still, he kept all his clothes on.

At The Forum he did throw his hat into the audience and a half-full waterbottle as well.

I didn't vote, I would have liked a 3rd option....Don't care or doesn't matter.
I don't think what he wears effects his singing except possibly on a psychological level, maybe his stage outfits take him from being a 66 year old grandpa to being Steven Tyler one of the worlds best rock frontmen. Without knowing that then I don't really care. It's a bit like he should he remember where he left his razor and shave, the facial hair doesn't effect how he sings so who cares. (personally I think he looks better clean shaven but I don't really care)
Over the least 40 years he has walked out on stage I have gone WOW (in a good way) at what he was wearing, I have also gone WOW (in a bad way) like what were you thinking. I think it all balances out.

I think I would like it better if he put them on for one song in the middle of the set to break things up. That would be pretty cool actually.
Of course as stated, the music is the main thing, and they are doing great in recent years.

Last time I saw Aero live...Steven popped out of the cat walk amid smoke and lights wearing a native American head dress, and he ditched the head dress to a staff member and grabbed an audience members beanie or ski hat which he then wore for the next few songs.
