This is a great cover. I wish they would throw this into the setlist in the place of Come Together when the Beatles urge strikes them. For me, this has a lot more life and a lot more potential for live energy.
Of course, I'm Down would be awesome too.

Saw them open with Helter Skelter in 78. Then segued into Rats. It was a great one-two punch.

It was pretty cool. But honestly, I was so enamored with the shape of the new guitars Joe and Brad were playing, I kind of "missed" the first couple of songs. I mean, I didn't register Rats until the chorus. I was enthralled with the red and blue guitars. Of course, I later learned Joe and Brad were playing the BC Rich Bich. Those guitars looked the part in 78, rock and roll. I even recall wondering what Joe and Brad were playing at my first show in 77. BC Rich again, Mockingbirds and Eagles. I guess I have been a guitar nerd for a long time.

Loved when they opened with Helter Skelter on the Rockin the Joint tour.
I dont think they have played Im Down since the Just Push Play tour...both these covers are superior to Come Together IMO.

Not really a fan of this cover. It was kind of cool live during the 05 tour because it was something different but I find their version to be pretty bland.

Have this on the big ten inch sampler CD. Also just saw Paul McCartney perform this yesterday.

I do agree, it came off better live, as it is a song that requires a lot of energy. For me, knowing the Beatles version really well, I never got into Aerosmith's studio recording. It didn't have that detuned low E that gives the Beatles song a super heavy sonic flavor. Just a little flat, and wham, it is in your face.

It was on Pandoras Box so I am assuming it was old which surprises me. I usually love their covers but a couple fall flat.. Love Me Two Times and Road Runner for example.

That's odd, because I find Helter Skelter to be very well done, and Love Me Two Times to be a boring cover. And Come Together has also never done anything for me. Maybe I feel that way about HS and CT because I feel the same way about the original Beatles songs.

Didn't like Love me Two Times either. Come Together grew on me, but it is not one i would put on my wish list for the set. Though, I really enjoyed I'm Down. Funny how our brains latch on to different things.

hahah and I LOVE their version Come Together... I'm not Beatles fan at all either. Also like their version of I'm Down.
