I never knew Aerosmith was ever 2nd bill after the mid 70's. And to Whitesnake? They blew Whitesnake off stage at the Donington Monsters of Rock festival (no surprise there). But, to be fair, Aerosmith weren't that big over here in Europe then. Apart from a mid-sized venue tour in 1989, it was their first time over here since a poor set in 1977 at the Reading festival. From memory, they'd been due to come here during the PV tour, but I think things picked up so quickly for them in the States that they decided to scrap that plan and concentrate on cementing their comeback in the US. Still, despite the short set at the Donington, we still got to hear Voodoo Medicine Man!

I seem to remember from a book, or article that festival over there or one like it where they took a limo from the dressing trailer to the stage a 100 or so yards was one if the strong inspirations for This is Spinal Tap. Here they didn't open for anyone in the early 80s so I couldn't see why they would any other time. I know their audience was mostly America in the 70s.
