I am sick and tired of this shit. Now I find out he he doing a Country Christmas album with Brad Paisley and the like? What the hell is going on? First he is doing a SHITTY solo pop album and now this? What happened to this guy? I used to love him now I am just embarrassed for him. Joe or somebody else needs to have a serious talk with him. THIS IS DISGUSTING!!!!!!

I kinda wish ST would do albums same as Rod Stewart has the past decade, how hard would it be to go in and sing an already written song and put it out?...........but I believe in the end he will do no recording as a solo.

I wouldn't really care if he released a country Christmas album. I might possibly like a few songs off of it, but wouldn't hold my breath. I don't think this would be anywhere near as bad as the electronic club music or duets with young pop tarts, two ideas he previously floated.
I look at the solo album as a running joke. He's always talking about wanting to do it, but still has no idea what it should sound like. He just looks at what's selling at the time and says he's leaning in that direction. Hopefully AC/DC's album sells like their last one (Black Ice shipped 6 million albums in it's 1st 4 months and was the second best selling album of 2008 according to Wikipedia). Maybe Steven will see that album tearing up the charts and decide that's the type of music to make.

This doesn't bother me.. I won't buy it but as long as it isn't with Aerosmith I don't care.

It doesn't bother you that our lead singer is becoming a complete sellout?

I think ST would run off and join ISIS if he thought it would bring him some extra cash and publicity. Next up, Jihad Steven

Steven does seem to blow with the wind of popularity. Desperate for attention. I am bummed that Aerosmith is affected by his need to be in the camera eye.
However, he can do what he wants. I want the same privilege. He doesn't have to visit me in my office. I don't have to buy his records (if one every really materializes).

^ Pretty much how I feel. If he does country, I'll give it a (probably brief) listen, and I'll probably hate it as much as any other country music and therefore wont buy it. I'm honestly beyond getting emotional over what Steven does musically anymore. I do think he should do the album he wants to do and get it out of his system. The thought of Aerosmith doing a strictly country album, that's a different story. That would piss me off frankly. Bring on the 'they can do what they want' statements, but its still bullshit and embarrassing to ME that *ahem* "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band" would flop over to the opposite side of music. Have a shred of dignity ffs.

Steven can do whatever he wants, of course, but I'm not sure if he knows what he wants other than that it be something that brings him more fame and attention. Last year (or maybe the year before) his solo album was going to include collaborations with everyone from Elton John to Psy. Now it's country. Whatever. But I agree with JJ. He can do what he wants and so can I. If the album ever does see the light of day (and I wonder if it will considering he's been talking about doing it for about 5 years now), I don't have to buy it or even listen to it if I don't want.
