If THIS gets cancelled too, I think I'm going to throw up.
---
I'm supposed to see a run of 12 shows in 18 days in late March- early April.
7 of them are in Germany, where the health minister has recommended banning events over 1000 participants, which would affect 6 out of the 7 shows I'm seeing (I personally think banning sporting events or concerts before public transport is stupid because well, you don't move everywhere in the venue at a football match or at a concert, whereas it's mayhem on public transportation).
1 of them is in Switzerland, which already has such a ban until the 15th, with the possibility of extension. The show I'm seeing is in a 5K+ arena, so no way that's going to fly if the ban gets extended.
4 of them are in the Scandinavian countries, where numbers have just started blowing up as well.
I've spent so much money on this it makes me dizzy. And of course booked non-refundable because I couldn't have afforded it at all otherwise.
---
In mid May, I'm supposed to see a show in a church in Berlin. That's a small intimate show, so it won't get affected, but if the damn thing keeps spreading, I'd rather it gets postponed. I'll take the ~100 euro loss, but the guy is 70+ and I'd rather he stayed the fuck away from danger.
---
In the last three days of May, I'm supposed to see my first festival abroad ever (Rock Hard in Germany). Starting to be worried for that as well.
---
Then I have tickets for Copenhell in late June. Their "see you in Hell" could take on a whole new meaning.
---
Then Aerosmith...

Look Germany and EU are really underestimating this threat. Italy has wavered for too much because it's difficult for our democracies to ban all movements but it's what we need to do in the whole continent to stop the outbreak otherwise this will not stop anytime soon. With these measures Italy can start to recover in a couple of weeks but if the other countries won't do the same it's gonna be pointless. Ask your media/local politicians asap. It's not a flu people can't breathe and have to be intubated. Shops and public transport are about to be suspended. Guys this shit is serious I don't know why they haven't told us this immediately in early January and had to wait for over a month for the virus to spread. ACT FAST!

Right now, I'd honestly rather get to see the shows and die from this thing... than have to give up...
I know I'm going to die anyway and it's going to be miserable, but I'd rather not be miserable until then. And right now I am. So I'd rather get eaten by the big bad wolf and put an end to this.

It's not about you, it's about the whole health care system, financial markets and global economy. This is very serious I'm appalled EU is silent and acting like this is nothing or a flu. Germany is only testing people with symptoms who have met confirmed coronavirus cases and are counting only deaths of patients with coronavirus only and not other pathologies so their number is smaller but the virus is everywhere. They're trying to make us believe the outbreak is only in Italy and that generated from a small town of 15K Inhabitants. The biggest airport in Europe is Frankfurter, Germany. Paris and Madrid are among the biggest airports as well. Do you really think the virus is an Italian issue? Mortality keeps getting higher as hospitals can't take care of all the patients with respiratory problems. EU has to SNAP OUT OF IT ASAP and hopefully we'll be out of this nightmare before June. The world is ending here.

You still don't understand, it's not the mortality rate, it's the need of intensive care that many people affected by coronavirus end up needing. If the virus keeps spreading our hospitals will have to choose between patients, we don't have enough beds and enough resources to take care of everyone. Everything is collapsing. NONE OF US is immune to this virus and we can all spread it across the world. It's VERY DANGEROUS!!!

Pillis, hold your horses. I don't know what conspiracy theories you're reading, but nobody thinks this is only happening in Italy or that Italy is to blame for the coronavirus. Or for the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs.
And if you put things into perspective, it is nothing. We are nothing. I can't believe you or others are so fucking shocked we could all die. Yeah, life is fragile. What else is new?
All I want is to get to fucking enjoy it. While I still have it. For all I know, a speeding truck could run me over when I cross the street tomorrow. Or, you know, forget the coronavirus, what if I caught malaria while I was in Berlin? I did kill a mosquito in the hotel room... Speaking of which, climate must be pretty fucked up if mosquitoes are alive and well (okay, the one I killed definitely isn't alive or well anymore, but it probably led a pretty happy blood sucking life before that) in early March at that fucking latitude.

It's no conspiracy. Again you're thinking about the mortality of the virus and not the consequences it has on the whole health care system and international relationships.
Just be very careful, the more careful we are the sooner we get out of here.
Germany is only testing people with symptoms that have met confirmed coronavirus cases and not counting all of the deaths. The numbers could easily be X4/X5 higher, if the virus reaches the elderly and weaker individuals hospitals might face a collapse putting in danger all the other patients.
It's not a conspiracy this happened In Wuhan and it's happening in Italy where as a developed and complex democracy we are unable to respond to such a challenging emergency with the same efficiency as China did. And this is bound to happen in other European countries. So if we don't want to miss out summer Aerosmith Tour (if it's not cancelled at this point) we should act now to contain the pandemic.

Lol, the healthcare system, good joke... I'm in Romania, most of our hospitals look like this. A few in the capital look better, almost decent even, but the better will probably be reserved for the rich. Unless my body can handle it on its own, I'm not delusional about the healthcare system helping me or anyone else who doesn't have the money. And you keep saying it's not about the deaths, but that will be a consequence of healthcare systems (that aren't like ours and can still collapse) collapsing. Not like it wasn't too damn many of us on the planet anyway. Guess Mother Earth is going on a detox diet or something.

I admire your nihilistic approach but China basically stopped almost 20m people affecting its economy, Italy is doing the same, not as drastically, but across all its territory and we are already in recession. This can get worse than 2008's economic crisis. I don't understand why the rest of EU is canceling flights like if suspending shengen will do anything. I'm seriously worried. Let's see what happens in a few weeks especially in Spain, Germany and France. UK now is totally out of the EU and was never part of shengen nor the euro so they can sort this independently, EU has to tackle this issue as a union. I really hope the outbreak will stop before wreaking have in too many hospitals. THIS is a VERY detailed article about what's going on here, very in depth and neutral. The fear is that these lockdowns might be ineffective if not taken all together at the same time. The recession is a given, we will need strong financial support all across EU. time.com/5799586/italy-coronavirus-outbreak/

Well, rejoice! Bavaria has banned events of over 1000 participants until late April. Here's the official statement of what they've decided, which covers waaaay more measures than banning events, but I'll be damned if I'll read a fucking huge wall of German legalese at this hour of the night. This article seems to imply other federal states have done the same, but I won't scour for official statements at 2am. So yeah, Germany is taking measures, my early April concerts won't happen. Not in April. And I've just lost half of what I make in a year. And if the concerts get rescheduled this autumn, I won't afford to go anymore anyway. But hey, I'll be safe from the coronablabla, yupeekay... 🙄 I'll go drink a bottle of expired brandy. Don't question my choice because it's not really a choice, it's literally the only bottle of booze I have in here.

Luckily Aerosmith are playing in summer so we still have time for hope.
That's why I'm worried and I think EU should take more drastic measures

Luckily Aerosmith are playing in summer so we still have time for hope. That's why I'm worried and I think EU should take more drastic measures With the number of cases multiplying each day, do you really think things will be better in a few short months? And, this is a global issue, not one exclusive to EU.
And by the way, I agree that the flu is far more dangerous.
