Believe what you want. We have intubated people multiplying by the hour. It never happens with the common winger flu even tho it affects millions of people each year. Yes we have an older population but again, this is far worse than the flu. This is an insightful article www.livescience.com/new-coronavirus-compare-with-flu.html

Is the Corona Virus serious absolutely yes I don't think anyone is making claims to the contrary. Fear of death is not love of life I've always said while I'm no master of the latter I'll never cave in to the former. If it's not about the deaths what do you call existing in a state of hypochondriatic fear and fear of hospitals and economies collapsing etc? It sure is hell isn't living it's a culture of living death. I say no thanks to that I'm not going to run from any and all human contact and avoid places with more than a handful of people present. Panic, fear etc will not combat the situation only make it worse. I'm not going to exist in fear of anything that has such little chance of killing me. Yes it's serious but the great majority of people are recovering. And yes the cases of it are going to increase that's going to be the natural course until the measures taken to combat the disease take full effect until it's reached it's spike and declines.

It's not fear, it's simply acting responsibly so that our hospitals can take care of everyone without collapsing. Acting recklessly will result in a burden on other people's lives.

If you think I'm being irresponsible about the virus spread, you're wrong.
One, I've been extremely careful not to get it. Guess who's been disinfecting the wrappers of every damn thing she bought, including things like chocolate or tampons?s Guess who, save for one pack of raspberries with holes in it and three bread buns, hasn't bought anything that wasn't in a sealed container for the past three weeks? Guess who has been hiding her face in scarves on public transportation?
Two, I've been extremely careful to keep the distance from people most of the time. Save for going out today for a few tens of minutes, I have had literal walls between me and every other human being ever since I returned from Berlin, just in case I caught something, even though the chances of having been anywhere near anyone infected during my three days in Germany are minimal and I'm displaying exactly zero symptoms.
All I wanted was to just get to enjoy a bunch of concerts, where realistically, regardless of their size, I would have been in the close proximity of fewer people than today when going to buy some stuff to eat and drink (okay, to be completely honest, I just got four more bottles of hard liqueur... at least all that alcohol should keep the virus away). Because I just go there early to make sure I'll get a spot in front, get my spot in front and then stay there until after it ends. Usually until most people have spilled out anyway. Which is why I'm saying it's ridiculous to ban concerts and sporting events (where people stay in the same damn place!) before public transport and shopping malls.
Bottom line, yeah, I've been careful. But I have to draw the line somewhere before being responsible turns into something that harms my mental and physical health and my chances of living my damn life after this whole thing passes. And the line was at the shows this spring.
I don't yet have travel and accommodation booked to see Aerosmith. Because I don't have the money for it. I could make the money if I worked. Think I've been able to focus on work ever since I've seen the news last week about how events might be banned in Germany? Lol, no, spent most of my time in bed and I've only been able to focus on drinking myself close to an alcoholic coma. And every damn time I try to bring up something work-related on my laptop my mind drifts away and I can't focus. So here's how this is going to play out for me: if the Aerosmith shows still happen, I won't be able to afford to travel to attend and I will have bought my most expensive ticket ever for nothing...

Well good to know you're being careful to avoid harming the elderly.
I really hope all these scheduled concerts will be fine, I'm surley missing pussycat dolls in London as I doubt Italians will be welcomed in the UK anytime soon although I'm afraid London's hospitals are about to snap very soo as well.
Let's hope they find a cure very soon so the hospitals can be more efficient in taking care of this enormous flow of patients.

Denmark has passed the 500 cases mark and is going on lockdown. Then there's always the North Korean solution (to be honest, I'm not even surprised).

Italy has closed all shops and non essential activities, we must stay at home until late March/early April and can go out only for essential activities like buying food, medicines. Walking the dog, going to work.... And we are required to print a self authorization stating the reason of our leave. It is a bit scary and dystopic but it's the only way to stop the outbreak. A scary growing number of young people in their 20s and 30s are being affected and need intensive care. The economic damage is going to be huge alk across the world. This is not the flu snap out of it asap and be wise guys. Hugs from Italy, let's hope for the best.

Trump suspended all flight between the US and EU for a month. This is serious. I don't think this is enough as the virus is everywhere it was in Europe and the US before China even started to talk about it, in Italy the virus came from Germany. I think the most effective way is to suspend all air travel and contain people but at what cost?

Yes we have an older population but again, this is far worse than the flu. This is an insightful article www.livescience.com/new-coronavirus-compare-with-flu.htmlOver 70% of the people in China that had it are out of the hospital and all better. This mainly effects those over 70 and those with other conditions that comprise the immune system. By the way, as a type 2 diabetic I am one of the people that are at increased risk and I am still not scared. I have a better chance at getting killed on my motorcycle or getting struck by lightning than I do at getting the virus. I think cancelling stuff is good to prevent the spread of the virus as much as possible. But yes, in a few months, if that, this will be a distant memory. They already have vaccines and medicines being tested. In the meanwhile, if you all need TP for your bunghole, I got a stash...it’s the good stuff so you’ll have to pay a little more...2 ply Charmin ultra soft...I’ll give you all a deal at $50 a roll. Inbox me. LOL!

You don't understand, up to 20% of people need intensive care, how many millions of people live in the EU and in the US? How many intensive care beds do we have? They're already choosing who to treat and who to let die, medics are crying.

You don't understand, up to 20% of people need intensive care, how many millions of people live in the EU and in the US? How many intensive care beds do we have? They're already choosing who to treat and who to let die, medics are crying. As of as close to right now as I can get 69,917 active cases. 92% (64,231 cases) Mid to lower level of serious. 8%(5,686 cases) critical or serious condition.
www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
So if a rational person looks at the ratio of the many millions of people in the EU and/or the US to the number of current cases as a whole, to total to serious cases, or to the total number of milder cases one can only conclude the virus to be a minor risk. I grant you that things are worse in Italy (a country that I love and damn sure am going to visit one day) you I understand the greater alarm to an extent. But there's way too much fear, hypochondria and idiotic & irrational behavior in regards to this that debases and degrades the potential of the human race. If they're (whomever they might be) are choosing who to let die and who to treat that is particularly sad I absolutely grant you. But based on the small number of serious cases there are (and how very few of those cases this might apply to) I cannot equate that to there being some sort of mass executions going on. Any more than I'll except the guilt of being some sort of serial killer for not washing my hands a 1000 times a day or walking past a group of people on the street not keeping a six foot distance so as to not pass on a virus I'm more than likely not to catch somehow on to an elderly person.

The incubation period is very long so we're just now discovering people which symptoms,if this is going to explode in the EU and US it's gonna kill many people and create chaos in hospitals. We need to stop the outbreak.
Yes being quarantined causes hypochondria and panic attacks, I've been crying and taking lexotan the past few days, it's really difficult.
Lets hope for the best.

Well, the number of confirmed cases in Romania is going to stop growing soon because we're running out of test kits. So... fast forward to December 2020, Romania is going to have some 300 confirmed cases and over 19 million people quarantined because maybe they have the virus, but maybe not, who can tell? We probably have around 100 now, haven't checked the number today.
In other news, here's the fun part: I've been going out a lot more since I found out my concert plans crashed. True, that only means shopping for booze once a day at times that normal people don't shop because the fact that I hate having my freedom restricted doesn't cancel the fact I'm antisocial. But prior to that, I was barely leaving the house. Some weeks I didn't go out at all. Know why? Because I had work to do. I had to prepare to speak at events, I had to make money to pay for concerts. I fucking had something in my life to look forward to, as far as both work and fun were concerned.
In the first two months of this year, even more than usual. And the hard work from January and February paid out financially. I made more in just these two months than I made in half a good year before. But then shows got cancelled, fun got cancelled, work got cancelled... and nothing was left. Other than getting drunk. And make no mistake, due to all the work I put in earlier this year, I now have a few good thousands to get drunk off. My organs are going to fail before I run out of drinking money. I do wonder which is going to go first. Does anyone want to start placing bets on what my death certificate is going to say? We already know it won't be the virus because there are no test kits in this country to be wasted on me. But is it going to be my kidneys? My heart? I don't have running water anymore, so I've been losing about a kilo (so more than 2% of my body weight) a day lately due to dehydration, so it's going to be either my heart or my kidneys to win the race to the grave.
But what about other people, right? Well, please excuse me, but since this Tuesday, I've been too fucking drunk to give a crap anymore.

But what about other people, right? Well, please excuse me, but since this Tuesday, I've been too fucking drunk to give a crap anymore. Please ensure that you buy water as well as wine/liquor on your next shop! If you're not going to look after your health for your own sake, at least do it for a bunch of strangers on the internet Not sure if I have already said anything on here, my mum died a couple of months ago. She wasn't old in any usual sense of the word, only 68, but I guess a lifetime of smoking coupled with a chest infection meant that she just couldn't fight it off. I'm sure if she hadn't died already, she'd probably be at serious risk of dying from coronavirus. My dad is around 77 so he's probably going to be at risk too. 2020 is a real pain of a year already and I am sure there is plenty more to come, but let's not make it any worse, eh?
