I know everybody is now hyped about the setlist, but here's something a friend of mine posted yesterday: " Email I just received:
Hello!
As an Aero Force One member we wanted to reach out to let you know our camera crews will be filming during the upcoming Aerosmith tour and we’d love to talk to some of their biggest fans. If you’re interested in being interviewed on camera, please respond to this email with the following:
1. Your name and a recent photo
2. Which show(s) you will be attending
3. Any great stories of your fan experiences or special band memorabilia
** Note: This does not pertain to the Blue Army video the band recently put together. That has been completed and will play on the screens before the show.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks,
Aerosmith Tour Film Team" And then someone asked: What’s the Blue Army Video? " I didn't hear about that until later so don't know too much. One of my FB friends was chosen. He said it's a documentary that will show before the start of the concerts." So what'd y'all think about this? I have five words to sum it up: really cool, way too late. In my book, that's the kind of interaction and engagement that we, fans were looking for. I don't understand, why it wasn't done for the last... 50 years?

I don't want to be negative but I swear if they release another live DVD that has non-concert stuff spliced in between the songs... as far as I can recall the Donington show from 2014 is the only release they've ever put out that's just one show from start to finish.

I saw something in Facebook, there's a video played on the screen above the stage (between the wings) with fans names and I think the year they joined AF1, and some memorabilia splashed here and there, while Full Circle plays in the background, then, there's a small post at the end "The greatest fans we could ever imagine" or something like that "We love you guys, Steven, Joe, Tom and Brad" (YES, ONLY 4 NAMES)
I can't find the link to post here, but it will eventually pop up on youtube

After the Black Crowes finished we decided to walk the concourse. We heard Full Circle being played. When we got back to our seats, the documentary was playing with 20 minutes to go. At least they did a little something for the long time fans. I hope they tailor it for each show for those people who purchased tickets through AF1.

Thanks. I'll try to find something on YT, but it might be that they recorded some interviews, but will put them on some farewell blue-ray or something... It is definitely a nice touch... Just some 40 years too late :/ And only 4 names... that's despicable.

And this is yet another shitty move, to announce this on the day of the first show or one day earlier. This is hardly for "long time fans"... more like "long time payers", sorry

I think it's a nice touch.
Kreator did something similar, though now that someone mentioned, I'm really glad those mini-interviews with fans were not in between songs, but had their own special section for both live video releases they did this for. For their late 2018 tour, they also released these short post-concert videos after every show, which included some live clips as well as interviews with fans before the respective shows.
The fact that Joey was not mentioned there makes me very sad. Okay, he has the most difficult job out of everyone in the band and can't physically handle full shows anymore. I'll even excuse the fact that he wasn't in the Peace Out promo - okay, they don't live together anymore, maybe Joey didn't feel like flying and being away from home just to shoot that clip... but "4 rock legends"? Not even listing his name? That's sad...

Some serious shade being thrown at the Kramedog...
Hearing he wanted to be involved but Tyler vetoed any JK involvement. Time will tell.
It really is a shame they cannot all go out together. But, 4/5 Aerosmith is better than no Aerosmith.

Somebody I’m friends on Facebook was talking about the tour. He used to be involved with the band (production or something) and he said he heard out of “Aerosmith camp” that Tyler has been unhappy with Joey’s playing ability for a good 5ish years now and does not think he is capable anymore. The band “Tyler/management” are saying health issues to avoid the issue of calling it what it is. Could be a load of BS but nothing would surprise me anymore.

I've avoided saying it in the forums, but I've heard something like this (a bit worse even) a while back too. From someone who's a good friend of a band member (not Steven), but not involved with their shows in any way, so I kind of hoped that maybe there was a communication problem there. But yes, the gist of what I've heard is the same. That it wasn't Joey choice and it's not really about his health, but about how it's perceived he's making the whole band look. To put it mildly.

If what you two are saying is indeed true... then this is what makes the whole band look bad, not Kramedog underperforming (even if that's true). For fuck's sake, give me a 15 songs in a setlist with deep cuts and all 5 members and I'm paying anything you ask. He misses a beat? Nobody fucking notices or cares and those who do will love them regardless. Or have somebody step in for one song, to give him a breather. Or just have Tom/Joe/Brad jam for 10 minutes! How cool would that be! I know Steven is perfectionist, but he really shouldn't be talking... He misses the beats, forgets the lyrics and can't pull the high notes and uses backup singers. What kind of perfection is this? Just to be clear - I don't really mind any of it. I know this is live rock and he's 75. But to stop Joey from playing? Come on!
Unless there is indeed something seriously wrong with Joey, that we don't know and he won't admit. Maybe even to himself...

I get the fact that a 2 hour show is heavy lifting for a pounder like Joey, but the fact he seems to have been erased from history within the band doesn't sit easy with me,or a lot of other fans... Apparently. He's very conspicuous by his silence, which makes it all more confusing. Will we ever know the truth? I do think he should be acknowledged, one way or another.
Just my thoughts.

aerostooge I agree wholeheartedly with what you're saying and I believe most of us who truly care about the band and it's legacy and not just Steven, do too...
