Sounds really bad! I wonder if a month is long enough

I was surprised they opened this tour with Saddle. It's too demanding at age 75. You also have to wonder now about Draw the Line getting played. As for additional backing tracks, No More No More. I'd be cool with additional backup singers, but not backing tracks. That's beneath them. That said, Steven needs to make some pretty significant changes going forward. Maybe his vocal cords are just shot at this point and it won't make a difference. That is a very real possibility. Hopefully he has some idea of what he can and can't do and adjusts accordingly, but this wasn't an isolated incident. Trying the same thing and expecting a different result will put him right back on the shelf. It sucks, and a segment of the internet will bitch and moan. Setlist changes are the most logical step and could even bring some welcome changes. Then give Joe and extra song, add an instrumental track. If they have any famous guests in attendance that can join them for a song or 2, bring them up. Let Steven unload most of the harmonized vocals to backup singers and stick to the verses.

Enlisting other vocalists to help out is an option. He wouldn't be the first. I'd say that out of all bands I've seen doing this, it worked out best for Whitesnake. Coverdale hit gold by bringing wonder kid Dino to help with vocals. There is this cover on his channel from a couple of years before he landed the Whitesnake job - not only is he insanely good, but his voice fits in perfectly. Various rock star guests joining in for a song - I think that's a great idea! It would make for a different something special at every show, a very nice bonus, a surprise to look forward to. Thought it was very cool when the Vampires had a special guest at a bunch of shows this year. I would have lost it if I had the luck of being at the show where Tony Iommi played with the Vampires. Rearranging the set, replacing Saddle with something easier for him to sing, a second Joe song, perhaps an instrumental, a second extended jam in addition to Rats, up for that too. But before anything else, I just hope Steven's recovery time won't need to be extended.

www.foxnews.com/entertainment/aerosmiths-steven-tyler-latest-famous-singer-facing-potentially-career-ending-voice-problemsI just don't see how he's going to come back from this in 30 days after what TMZ and now Fox has reported with him seeing Dr. Steven Z again from Boston, like in 2006. They had to cancel a whole tour back then and were skeptical... this is now... 2023... he is 75. Also remember, when they came back in 06, they went on a dual headline tour with the Crue and played much shorter shows 11-13 songs, in fear that Steven might lose his voice again. If and when they come back, there has to be significant modifications to the show for ST to be successful. They will have to shake up the setlist, shorten the setlist, and give Joe a few songs. Whether they rely on tracks or back-up singers that is up to them. Another thing THEY need to do is stop doing all the songs in the original key. ST has nothing to prove. Change they key, make the songs fit ST's voice now.... It's nothing to be ashamed of...

This exactly, if they just jump right back into what they were doing, they are setting him up to fail. They need to modify the show for him.

As good as ever. I hope he can take care of himself. Certainly he has command over the setlist. Maybe do an acoustic residency in NYC or BOSTON - just not Vegas. Reimagine the songs. We will come to you!

We will come to you! If they ever did a smaller venue acoustic tour, they can just take my money now for it lol. They were supposed to do an acoustic show probably 16-17 years ago as a one off in New York. It was billed as this then something must have happened and it was more of a storytellers type thing which was fun but wasn't acoustic. I remember forgetting earlier plugs for the show then reminding myself I probably wouldn't need them anyway since it's acoustic but it wasn't and I did need them.

I’m feeling less confident about the Tampa show. I hope 30 days is all he needs, but it’s not looking good. Yea, I'd expect the initial prognosis to be on the conservative side. As we've seen many times before, they can always postpone more shows, but can't undo a postponement. That they went with 30 days right off the bat makes me think that's the bare minimum, best case scenario.

I'm mixed about this approach. On the one hand, I get that it's damage control, trying to limit changes to the initial plan, but on the other hand, it's putting everyone who has tickets right after this forced break in an awkward situation. Wait until the day before the show to see if it happens?

As much as I would love to see them in Boston on NYE…I wouldn’t go anywhere to see them that I needed airfare and hotel. Although hotel can usually be canceled. Plus…I don’t have any winter clothes anymore. 😂

Personally, I can't see this tour resuming.... And that breaks my heart. Time will tell, obviously..... And I hope I am wrong. Just a gut instinct I have. I can't help but just wish the 5 of them had just done some big televised 50th anniversary thing at Fenway Park and said goodbye that way. Ya know.... A big 3 hour show. That would have been the best way to bow out, I reckon. With guests involved, plenty of opportunities for Tyler to rest that voice of his.

If NYE remains scheduled I will travel to Boston. I would think that it would be canceled well in advance if it's not going to happen, unless the tour resumes and Steven hurts himself in Jersey. I have until 6pm on 12/30 to cancel the hotel and my plan is to drive early on Sunday the 31st. Once 6pm on the 30th passes I'm going either way with wife and son. We'll find a good time somewhere. I've already promised my sister that if they cancel(in advance) I will go to Billy Joel here in NY with her and the family for NYE, and she always gets sick or breaks an ankle or something when she comes into town, so please Steven...proceed gingerly!

I was planning on sdeeing them in NC on the 24th.. My friend lives there so still taking the trip.. Now I am eyeing the GA show Oct 14th.. It would be their 2nd show after resuming.. So I would have to wait and see how the Tampa show goes and make arangments the day before.. Not the best situation.
