That can't happen because girls voices are like nails on a chalkboard. Not Chelsea's. Not anyone popular. What? Uh...Carrie Underwood gets played at Gitmo

Agree on Depp but I could give a Rats ass if Joey is there or not to be honest. I commend them for carrying on the tour and doing what they have to do. I also don't find it the least bit cheesy that they used Jesse to fill his shoes. It actually makes sense to me. 99% of the people out there don't care who is behind the kit at an Aerosmith show anyway. Almost every band has to do this from time to time. I would be pissed if they canceled my show because Joey couldn't play. I don't even pay attention to him during the shows anyway. I have seen them have to replace Tom and the show was still awesome.
Now when you start talking about Steven Joe and Brad, that is a different story.
I remember how bummed I was when I heard Bill Ward wasn't going to be part of the Sabbath tour. He is my favorite drummer of all time. The show still ended up being incredible without him.

He is a great drummer and the people that don't notice that have no ear for real rock n roll. He is one of the best of all time. Maybe you should keep listening to Steven Tyler trying to hit the notes on Dream On.

He is a great drummer and the people that don't notice that have no ear for real rock n roll. He is one of the best of all time. Maybe you should keep listening to Steven Tyler trying to hit the notes on Dream On. I saw a New Years eve show back in the early 80's in Boston and Kramer was sick, replaced by the drummer from Blue Oyster Cult. Only Steven & Tom were the original Aerosmith...nobody gave a rats ass that Joey wasn't there. Steven is primarily the show as he's the face of the band. But it's become the Tyler/Perry show & I think it would be odd to not have Joe and I think they would cancel if Joe was unable to play. To replace Brad, yeah, they need a solid guitarist, but I bet 85-90% of the fans wouldn't know the difference or care as they just want to hear some Aerosmith songs & see Tyler & Perry. Also- I have known a few people who play drums and they respect Kramer and say he's tight, but none have ever said he's one of the best of all time. I think most would say he's an average to above average professional drummer. Aerosmith is a guitar band after all, they're not Rush. Anyway, for me personally, as long as Steven & Joe are there and only one other is missing, I would rather see the show than to have it cancelled. I bet I wouldn't notice any difference in the sound or any missed beats. I think it's quite awesome that Joey's kid could step in for him. An experience of a lifetime for him and a good story all around, I have no problem with it.

The guy that started this thread clearly doesn't know what a world tour is...and a world tour at 62 is demanding! It's 100% normal that the band has some session musician who can replace one of the members if they don't feel good that night and having one of their kids instead is touching. As long as they don't replace steven or joe I think it makes sense and it's better for everyone that they keep the show goin otherwise they'll loose money and credibility especially with tour promoters and agencies.

The ideal situation is obviously to have all 5 guys there, but personally I'd much rather see Aerosmith with Jesse than have my show cancelled. It sucks not having Brad there because they are indeed a guitar band, and Tom would #4 of the guys I'd hate to see missing. Nothing but love and respect for Joey, but as Tomass said, I pay very little attention to what he is doing at any given Aerosmith show. He's a great drummer, but there's nothing particularly distinctive about his style. As 4bits said, this isn't Rush. And I'll add Led Zeppelin to that.

Well I think Joey is still a beast on drums but without a drum solo he doesn't have solo moments on other songs but I woulnd't say he's not distinctive....I think Aerosmith have many songs with a very funky and peculiar beat. I really enjoyed his presence in 2010 but yeah this year he was kind of left behind in the dark so I wouln't mind to have his son instead, and he sounds good too so it's not even a problem.

Yes I would. It seems so cheesy and cheap just to sub in the next of kin and just keep going. Until somebody dies, do it as the original 5. Tom didn't have a family member sub for him, but he needed a sub for most of the Aussie/Asia tour and the South American tour. If they had canceled the shows, they never would have been able to make it up. Total disappointment for me with Tom getting sick here in Oz, David Hull did a great job but I felt I wasn't seeing Aerosmith or getting what I paid for. That said, I wasn't angry at Tom, better he was at home taking care of himself.
As for Jesse subbing for Joey, I think I would feel less cheated, he is family, if he wasn't up to scratch he wouldn't be there for starters. I think the pressure on Jesse filling in for Joey would be ten times as much as for David Hull who is just the hired help so to speak.
