Livin' on the Edge. I know tomass. You give it a D. This night it goes up to a C+ sir. The extended jam ending was added back into place which usually gets scrapped. It was a welcome addition. Steven did get his scat ending and did it well. I upgraded WTW from a C to a B for a closer after watching one of the videos. Usually a anticlimactic, predictable closer but without giving anything away, it looks cool as hell this tour.

Great review What was the total run time of the show, video and all?
About 2 and a half hours all told. Started a little after 8 and we were back out on the strip by 10:35.

Saw tonight’s show. The piano was not working for Dream On and Steven was not happy about it, so they just went into the song with Steve at the main stage, but his mic was off for the first half of the song (but Steve did not notice).
Awesome show! Did not look up the setlisr cause did not want to be spoiled. The band still rocks! I had never seen Seasons or Hangman Jury before so was thrilled to have them. The show has really great visuals (especially the lights and lasers) that you have to see in person to believe. The last time I had seen Aerosmith was 2013. Loved the show, especially Toys, Seasons, and Hangman Jury.
Train was definitely the fast version. Did they actually play the slow one on the other dates?
What is semi annoying is that the show time is 8PM, but what happens is at 8PM you watch a 30 minute documentary before they go on stage. Why not just play that 30 minutes before the showtime for those waiting? Seems crazy to make everyone in the audience watch a long documentary.

They played the full Train to open at least the first show. I am actually pretty pumped for the documentary. I love that shit and it seems like all part of the experience to me. I am holding off on watching that til my show..

Went to the April 8 and April 11 shows. The movie/documentary is enough the first time around, the second time forget about it. We were on Joe's side 4th row the first show and in the General Admission pit for the second show. Being in the two different places gives you a totally different view of the show.
All the guys have a great energy level during the show. And thank goodness Steven was in a good mood for the M&G. When he found out we were seeing 2 more shows in July, he grabbed my finger and said you come and let me know what's good and what's working. He was having a good time. Though not so much when the piano and mic were f***ed up for "Dream On". He walked back to Joe and said you remember how to play this and Joe started the opening notes on guitar. You're right, someone really lost their job that night. But Steven must have been happy by the end of the show because he walked off with his arm around Joe.
The THX sound is awesome. It puts you in the middle of the music. No matter with all the issues, both shows I've seen so far have been the best. Nice to hear "Kings and Queens" and "Hangman's Jury" and here's hoping that as the months roll along, they'll change up the setlist some. I would love to hear "Chip Away" and as others said "Deuces are Wild".
The inflatable toys that come down from the ceiling during "Toys in the Attic" are lame. They don't DO anything, just hang there.

Forgot to add that the Japanese fan from "Rock The Rising Sun" was there Thursday. Could have been there other days, but I didn't see him. What does this guy do (or did), to have the time and money to follow Aerosmith all over the world? I would love to do that, but I have to work and will paying for these 4 shows for a loooooong time.
The M&G with Joey, Brad, and Tom was the best. Joey opened up about his heart surgery. All three seemed like they were really enjoying meeting with the people. Though that love for the Japanese fans came through when someone asked Brad some his favorite venues to play. He mentioned how they enjoyed the fans in Japan. I'm standing there thinking I've just told you I'm seeing you tonight, again on Thursday, and 2 shows in July and you've got to have some idea of how much money I've spent to enjoy seeing Aerosmith in a small venue, and you still don't have the decency to acknowledge the fans that are standing right before you.

You mean Nobu Tanaka, the super fan I have no idea what he does, but someone told me that he's in some advertising or something similar... Not sure how accurate that is or even if it's true, tho. But you are totally right - the time and money... He is damn lucky! I have never been to M&G, but I am happy for you that you enjoyed it. Still, it was indeed not very nice of him (to say the least) not to appreciate your presence there. This sucks, shame on him. Still better than being removed from the 1st row, though

Real estate business. And Aerosmith isn't his only expensive hobby. And yeah, I totally get what you're saying. Something else I've seen on these forums was someone commenting on Joe's comments about biggest fans saying it was really the richest fans (or something along those lines). Of course they've noticed Nobu when he's taken them to so many fancy-schmancy places, given Joe a guitar, paid $50K per song to get to pick a part of the set. They'll never really notice the fans putting in a huge financial effort just to be at their shows. Not for more than a few seconds. Now to be fair, I wouldn't really care about their attention, about them noticing me... if they didn't shower the rich fans they know with that attention right in front of me. It's a funny thing, isn't it? I first got to see them in 2010. I was still a broke-ass student back then, with no income other than what I got from my parents. The Golden Ring (front of stage area) tickets were about the equivalent of $100 (at the exchange rate of the time). And yeah, I know, seems so little compared to their ticket prices today, but that stayed my most expensive ticket to see a single band until 2016! Back in 2010, I was getting 10% less than that per month from my parents. And that money was meant for also paying for bills and food for the month. I was also getting some food tickets for a little boost. I exchanged the food tickets for money, delayed paying my bills and ate every two weeks. But guess who had a Golden Ring ticket to see Aerosmith on the day they went on sale? The people at the sale point weren't even sure the tickets were already on sale when I got there. I insisted, I was sure the tickets had gone on sale at 10am. They checked, and one super bouncy Ana walked out of there with the ticket. At that point, I was sure it was a one in a lifetime opportunity. I never thought I'd get another chance to see them again. I was crying and laughing at the same time, calling people to let them know I was going to see Aerosmith, do you understand what this means?! I never imagined I'd get another chance. Which is why I was devastated at the end of that show when one of the security guys didn't want to give me the pick from Joe. He wanted money in exchange for it. Almost half the ticket price. Had I known my mom had put money in my pocket, the exact sum he was asking for, money that was supposed to last me two weeks... I wouldn't have had a moment of hesitation, I would have given him the money, I wanted that pick that badly. I never imagined I could one day afford to travel abroad to see them. And more than a show a tour! I'm definitely not Nobu-level, I take the up to 20€ flights that force you to cram your entire life in a small bag you can put under the seat in front if you don't want to pay extra, often the night buses to save on accommodation. And I show up at the venue in the morning to catch a spot in front because nobody gives me an AAA pass. Scorching heat, pouring rain, hail... been through all! And overall, it is a big financial effort, but I have zero regrets. Everything I've ever done to somehow make it mathematically possible to see the shows I've seen... I'd do it all over again. Will they ever know or care about this? No. And, honestly, I don't think it's any of their business anyway. Still stings a bit when they have the rich fan guests in front of the barrier and they keep pointing towards them even though they're dry and you're all wet with sweat half way through the set. And the funniest thing about it all is I wouldn't want this attention otherwise, I'd much rather be invisible.

Went to the shows on Thu 4/11 and Sat 4/13. Both shows were really good. Band sounded great and the sound in the theater is crystal clear. Lights and visuals are top notch as well. I really enjoyed the setlist. I enjoy at least some of their stuff from pretty much every album so I’m easy to please, but even having said that I think they have a pretty solid mix of songs for what this show is.
I do have a a couple nit picky complaints. The setlist was the same both nights, I feel like they could bring this show from really good to great by rehearsing and nailing down a handful of gems and then sprinkling 1-2 into each show. That would make each show unique and more memorable. Maybe they will get there eventually, it’s still early. Secondly, they are still trying to work out some kinks, it was better Sat but still some minor issues. Obviously the big one on Thurs was the piano not working on Dream On and then Steven’s mic was out for the first half of the song. Seemed like amateur hour to be honest. Steven was battling all night on Thurs to get things right, it was better Sat but still there. Again I’m sure they’ll get there eventually it was only shows 3 and 4.
The venue is really nice, not surprising. Thurs I was in the first row of the balcony and Sat I was in the last row of the lower level. Both provided a great view, I don’t think there is a bad seat in the place. The view from the first row of the balcony was probably better, but I was able to stand in the lower level because I didn’t have anyone behind me.
IMO you aren’t missing anything if you don’t see the 30 min video before the show. To me it just seemed like filler to allow the casino crowd to filter in. That’s another thing that I think could’ve enhanced the experience, if that had somehow been better (not sure how, I just thought it was kind of boring, maybe others enjoyed it). One nice thing is they had timer counting down to when the actual show would start so you knew when to be in your seat. The video kind of segues into an intro to the show with about 5 minutes left. Video is from 8-8:30 and show is 8:30-10:15. As someone else said the toys that drop from the the ceiling are lame. I thought the ramp thing during Walk This Way was really cool and a nice little touch for those of us in the balcony. T shirts were $45 I think and I planned to buy one since I already had so much money invested but I thought they were all ugly, at least the Vegas specific ones. You can bring one drink in from outside, they just have you put into a clear plastic cup. It was nice for me the second night because the beer selection was pretty limited so I grabbed two before heading in and they just had me and my wife pour each one into a plastic cup. Lines for drinks and bathrooms were long before the show but not during the show (I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing was played around 9:30 which worked great for me timing wise).
Anyways, the complaints I have are for the most part just nit picking. I thoroughly enjoyed both shows. When they first announced this I wasn’t sure if it would be cool or cheesy, but now having seen it I would definitely say it’s cool and if I was in Vegas again tonight I would gladly go again. As the great Tony aka motherpopcorn used to say “We’re playing with house money” (did he foresee the Vegas residency way back when?), so I’m happy just to be able to see them live at this point. Steven alluded to that fact during band intros on Sat, pointing out that these are the 5 original members. Pretty crazy that they are still together, healthy, and sounding great at this stage of their career. I will see them every chance I get.
