Wow interesting can you review this headphones experience? I wanna hear more about the audio feed Basically when you get on to the stage they give you an iPod and headphones. The iPod let's you listen to either the band mix or Steven's mix. They do this because you're on the sides where the sound isn't as good. After the show you return the ipod but you keep the thx brand headphones. As you leave the stage you get a box with different sized ear buds

Got in at 5 AM this morning! Time for some reviews...
Show #1 7/7/19
For the first show my friend and I did the VIP Vault tour. I know it was a lot of money, but I had a lot of fun doing it. The tour guide was really informative and the museum was full of tons of cool stuff the band has held on to over the years. My favorite part was the on stage tour. The band's head roadie, "Haystax" gave us an in depth tour of all the gear the band was using on stage. For any music gear nerds like myself, that part was amazing. It was cool to see all the stuff up close. It was about an hour long and everyone got a limited edition Deuces Are Wild poker set which is pretty bad ass.
The intro to the show is pretty cool. You really aren't missing much if you just show up for the show, but it is worth to sit through once.
The setlist:
Train Dude The Other Side Rag Doll Last Child Sweet Emotion Hangman Seasons What It Takes Stop Messin Cryin' Edge Thighs Elevator Toys ----------------------------- Darkness/Golden Slumbers/Dream On Chip Away Popcorn/WTW
I can't complain at all about the setlist. I loved seeing The Other Side and Lord of The Thighs. These days, I will take anything that is not played regularly. Plus, Hangman, Seasons, Last Child, Chip Away... Just killer.
The performance for the most part was pretty stellar. These guys still kick ass at all almost 70 or over. ST is truly a freak of nature. I do not know how he does it. He hasn't lost it at all. Joe was the MVP of this show. He looked and played better than I have ever seen him. I hope he keeps doing what he is doing. Brad and Tom were great as always. Now the elephant in the room. Joey Kramer. Let me just start by saying, I love Joey. I play the drums because of Joey. If It was not for Joey Kramer, I would not be the player I am today. He does not look well. It seems like he is literally giving all that he has to get up there and play. I thought he was gonna pass out during the outro of Sweet Emotion. I still saw a few smiles towards the end of the show and he seems to be having fun. But, tempos were off at times, and he just doesn't seem like the #hit hard JK he use to be. Something seems up with him.
Show #2 7/9/19
The setlist:
Draw The Line Dude
The Other Side
Rag Doll
Last Child
Sweet Emotion
Hangman
Seasons
Viva Las Vegas Stop Messin
Cryin'
Edge
Thighs
What It Takes Elevator
Toys
-----------------------------
Angel/Dream On
Chip Away
Popcorn/WTW
Another great setlist. DTL was a great surprise as opener. Totally unexpected because they have opened with Train at every show prior. Thighs smoked. So glad I finally got to see it live.
This show was better than 7/7. The band was tighter and the sound quality was a lot better in the venue this night. At the end of the show, all of the guys spoke into the microphone saying how thankful they were for all the fans coming out to see this residency. I thought that was pretty cool.
At the end of the day, if you get the chance, go see the band. They still put on a great show, and you never know when it will be over. Enjoy it while you can!

^^Is it me or did I notice the slightest snippet of Mia in there too. Not on the piano but a couple of those oohhs I feel I've heard before. Strangely enough I have not listened to Dream On in quite a wile. Damn that felt good!

Agreed, the Dream On performance was awesome. How fun to see it from a different perspective and seeing all the effects of the lights and everyone playing. Though you're in the action, you don't get that when you're right on the catwalk. I'm going to get all girlie, but it gave me goose bumps and made me remember being there 2 weeks ago.

I have done the whole catwalk thing in the past.. It is cool but I do agree you miss a whole different element of the show.. Sometimes it is good to be a little further back.. Not too far though!!

I just got back from the concert and the band is still as impressive as ever. I tried to avoid Youtube videos and set lists leading up to the show this time around. Not that I was expecting to be surprised, and I did read a few from time to time, but I figured that would make the show seem a little fresher.
Hearing Hangman Jury live was on my bucket list, and I kind of expected to hear it. But reading setlists show after show year after year can make songs that I haven't seen much seem like the same old same old. So Hangman was a big treat, then Eat the Rich, Same Old Song and Dance, Toys, Seasons and Last Child are all good rotational songs that are out more than they are in.
Joey was still out. Steven said he broke his ankle kicking his ass in rehearsals. I think Steven made another joke referencing the Simpsons appearance referring to the 'Sprinfield' crowd as 'St Louis', but I didn't hear it clearly.
It's been a little over 6 years since I last saw them and I had some fears that this would be the time their age really caught up to them. Luckily they didn't seem any worse for wear. The music was tight and loud and they move around as well as should be expected of people half their age.
My only slight complaint would be they stuck to the album versions more than usual. Steven still snuck in the substitute lyrics quite a bit, but they didn't really have any extended jams or snippets of other songs. Not really anything before Dream On or added to Sweet Emotion. They did play a few verses of Whole Lotta Love during the outro to Walk This Way, but that was the exception.
The video back-drop was a nice addition. Livin' on the Edge had a full video playing in the background, different from the music video. Seasons and Hangman both had cool background settings and Toys had a nice little CGI snippet at the beginning. The intro video was so-so. They listed the start time as 8:00, then dim the lights at 8, and the screen displays "Show starts in 32:00" and it begins counting down and shows the video.
The sound quality was really good. The volume was the lowest I've ever seen at an indoor Aerosmith show, but my ears were ringing for 3 days after the 2013 Foxwoods show and everyone sounded like Minnie Mouse 3 songs in even with protection, so no complaints here. I could hear it clearly tonight.
Bottom line is it was a great concert for any rock band at any age, and even more impressive when you consider how long they've been doing this. Sure they have to make some adjustments and can't do everything they could 30 years ago, but they do a remarkable job with those adjustments. Hopefully they'll be back again soon.
