I would like another album. I don't think Jack is necessarily a weak producer or too old to control Aerosmith. I think Steven has too many hanger ons that kiss him where the sun don't shine, and Steven allowed them to infiltrate the making of MFAD. Jack was really jazzed and posting frequently when the sessions first began, then basically went "off the air." With Steven you either capitulate, get fired or quit.
But I digress, i would love to see the band take the energy from their recent performances and head right in the studio. That, I think would make the beginnings of a strong album. Won't happen. To many other things for the band members to involve themselves in, and they have grown so accustom to over writing, over-arranging, and over-producing. And by the way, who has been designing these album covers. Since Pump, yuck.

I am sure most would vomit at this, but I would love to see Mutt Lange have a go at Aerosmith.

They album covers are always great what's wrong with them?! They're the coolest around! I think they could have developed the comic concept a bit more, maybe working with Marvel for a music video and release a limited comic novel about them and put a song on the Avengers!

The MFAD cover was pretty bad. The cover of JPP was almost the best part of the album though. If it had a green, blue, or black background instead of pink it would have been pretty badass.

Never get why everyone seems to hate the JPP cover, I love it! Even with the pink background but maybe with a darker one would have been better. The MFAD cover was epic, I love it! I was so pumped by the visuals they had in this era, it's weird because I usually don't like comics.

The (supposed) goal of MFAD was to re-establish some long overdue credibility for the band. That comic book cover was unfortunately counter productive to that end much in the same way that the cover of Done With Mirrors was.

I agree with the above. No more new songs. Quite frankly, I don't think they can (or will, with Steven's mindset) write good songs anymore. How about resurrecting some of their great old songs that they never play?

Pillis there is one flaw to your idea about promotion. And that is that Aerosmith promoted the hell out of MFAD (just had a total déjà vu moment because I swear I've had this debate before). They went on the late night circuit, the were on billboards, they were on Internet ads, hell they released tracks of the album exclusively on Rolling Stone (which I still think was a big mistake). All that was missing was the band going door to door trying to sell the album individually, which if the idea was presented in Boston they probably would have. Lack of promotion is not what kept MFAD from selling. A messy all over the place album trying to cater to everyone but pleasing no one is what flopped it.

All set with any new Aerosmith music at this point. Aside from BoBo, the last album I liked was PV.. And MFAD and JPP were just terrible..

Even Pyromania I liked - but Hysteria onward, way over produced.

Just don't like them. I'll take anything Pump and before, or Bobo, but GAG, NLs, JPP and MFAD have no appeal to me at all. Again, seems like someone was trying to hard to force some kind of new image on the band. Look at Rocks - it is a brilliant cover. Simple a elegant in a razor sharp kind of way. Wings is also brilliant.

Coop likes the cover of JPP? It might have been cool if Autograph hadn't already had that cover in the 80s. Someone didn't do their homework on this one - or, thought they could pirate something. For me, JPP cover was dated from the day it was released. But I will admit, it is miles ahead of MFAD which was just "comical" in a sad and pathetic way. Again, someone trying to make the band relevant using the popularity of comic book movies. Way out of touch.
